Know all men by these presents that I Richard Tookerman master of the Sloop Adventure have hired bargained & agreed wth Capt. Daniel Porter Master and Owner of the Sloop Mayflower, To proceed to ye Island of St. Thomas and to follow such Private instructions as is agreed upon between us and for his said hire the said Richard Tookerman doth oblige himself his Heirs Executrs Admrs. & Assigns to pay unto the said Dan’l Porter or his Certain Attorney the full and just Sum of four hundred p’ces of Eight after such Instructions so Complyed with and upon his delay & not Performance of the Same in not Complying with the said Agreemn’t and not saling the day herein mentioned and agreed upon which is ye 25th of January 1721. The said Dan’l Porter Doth oblige himself his Heirs Executrs Admrs. & Assigns to pay unto ye said Richard Tookerman or his Certain Attorney the full and just Sum of one thousand pieces of Eight Currant Money of Curicoa. In witness whereof the said Dan’l Porter & Richard Tookerman have hereunto sett their Hands & Seals this 24th day of Jan’ry 1721.
